S+D METALS: a successful logistics concept

Everyday S+D METALS provides numerous customers worldwide just-in-time. We have been setting the standards concearning cost savings and security of supply due to innovative logistics, decades of expertise and well-coordinated teamwork between the different departments. Being the new head of the Service Center in Stelle, Piotr Dobrzynski act as the direct link between our departments.

S+D METALS welcomes Piotr Dobrzynski to our team. Appointed head of our Service Center in Stelle, he coordinates all logistics processes from incoming goods to material cutting and delivery. He is in constant contact with our quality management, order processing and sales departments to ensure just-in-time delivery of our materials according to your exact requirements. In the interview he answered some exciting questions:

Why did you choose S+D METALS?

From the very beginning during my job interviews I was convinced by the warm and friendly atmosphere as well as the familial environment at S+D METALS. Regarding my position, I was particularly attracted by the close cooperation with all departments, the diverse tasks and the opportunity to advance the company through my own ideas.

What experience do you have?

I started with my formation as a cutting machine operator with the specialization milling technology. In the following years, I have always gladly taken my chance to advance my education. Today, I am a master metalworker, REFA work organizer and certified trainer. All in all, I have almost 15 years of professional experience and I am looking forward to bringing that experience to S+D METALS.

How does your working day look like?

My working day at S+D METALS is above all very varied. My tasks cover the coordination of employees and orders to active support in production. In my function I like to work solution-oriented by supporting employees and trying to optimize work processes. My everyday work includes orders for operational procedures as well as the constant exchange with our other departments.

What do you like best about your job?

This variety is exactly what I like best at S+D METALS. Due to the variety of tasks, I meet new challenges every day and one thing is certain: there is no such thing as boredom. S+D METALS is characterized by the family atmosphere throughout the company and the close cooperation with the management. That' s why I was quickly able to feel part of the team.

Our logistics concept

The logistics concept of S+D METALS is internationally oriented in both procurement and delivery. S+D METALS works in a safety-oriented manner with the aim of delivering just-in-time and environmentally conscious as a result of bundling deliveries and strategically dispatching the goods. Proven forwarders ensure that the material reaches the customer in a time and cost-optimised manner. For smaller cuts, parcel services take over the delivery.

S+D METALS is more than just a stockist

We are happy to help you save time and additional work steps in your company. At our Service Centre in Stelle near Hamburg we can offer you high-quality material blanks within no time at all using our extensive, modern machinery.

At S+D METALS, we attach great importance not only to stocking the highest quality material, but also to the next processing step. Therefore we use numerous band saws from the Behringer company.

In cooperation with our partner company TOVAB, S+D METALS offers individual water jet cuts- according to customer drawings. Modern machines cut titanium sheets and plates up to 9,000 mm x 3,000 mm in size and up to 250 mm thick. Material-friendly and environmentally friendly water jet blanks are produced using 4,000-6,000 bar in high quality and a time and cost efficient manner.

S+D METALS offers the processing of titanium or nickel strip with the help of a reliable and experienced partner in Germany. They can split and straighten 0.3-3 mm thick strips and make a transverse cut. As a result, we can produce sheet metal for you in the dimensions you want.
