Aerospace & Defense Meetings in Poland
S+D and BIBUS METALS recently took part in the Aerospace & Defense Meetings, which took place in Rzeszów, Poland, from 21st-23rd May 2019.
Here, we demonstrated our range of products, as well as our standards of quality, and informed visitors about the many possible areas of application for titanium and titanium alloys in the aviation industry.
Poland – a country leading the way forward for the aviation industry
The history of Polish aviation spans more than 100 years. During this time, Poland has also gained more than 80 years’ experience in production.
Today, more than 150 Polish companies are actively involved in the aviation industry, employing a total workforce of approximately 25,000 people. 90% of production is exported.
“Aviation Valley” – an industry association made up of the biggest producers, suppliers and companies in the aviation industry – was founded in south-east Poland (in Rzeszów) in 2003.
Over the past 20 years, production in Poland has almost doubled, with the Polish aviation industry only continuing to grow.
Thus, Poland’s relevance for the aviation industry is indisputable.
The event took place in a modern setting flooded with natural light, the G2A Arena in Rzeszów – the Polish capital of aviation.
Its proximity to the airport and the high concentration of Polish companies in the “Aviation Valley” surrounding Rzeszów made the arena a particularly convenient venue.
Rzeszów is among the top six largest production sites for the aviation industry in the world.
In total, more than 140 international companies from across the entire value chain attended the event.
The future of the aviation industry
The Aerospace & Defense Meetings began on 21st May with a conference which dealt with the topics of the Polish and European future of the aviation industry, and of the future of the national space programme. Talks were held by Polish industry experts.
Here, particular emphasis was placed on the potential of the Polish aviation industry.
Organisation of the Meetings
The Aerospace & Defense Meetings concept stands out due to the organised meetings which take place between interested parties ahead of the event. These meetings aim to guarantee the successful and rewarding execution of the main event.
Following registration, a time window was determined in which meeting requests were able to be sent to potential business partners online. The company in question was then able to accept or deny these meeting requests.
It was on this basis that the team responsible for organising the trade fair planned the meetings, creating a timetable for each company listing their individual meetings as well as providing information with regard to the time and stand at which these would take place.
Thanks to the trade fair organisers, the organisation of the meetings went smoothly and without any problems.
We would like to thank them for giving us the opportunity to take part in many positive meetings, as well as to make some new contacts. We look forward to our continued positive collaboration in the future!
Our wide-ranging aerospace stock programme
Quality management plays an important role in the aviation industry. This is why S+D has received ISO 9001 certification and holds aviation approval in accordance with EN 9120, as audited by AirCert GmbH.
Our first-class aerospace stock programme consists of round bars, sheets and plates in a wide range of dimensions and sizes.
S+D Spezialstahl does more than just stock. Having our own machine park allows us to create custom blanks and carry out processing in an expert manner.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Oliver Frankenheim and Piotr Jurkiewicz, our product managers for the aerospace sector.
